Facilities

All of our facilities are available for individual and group booking.  

Our facilities can be tailored to your individual requirements whether it be for clinics, shows, camps. We have hosted many different types of events including The British Carriage Dogs National Trial, The English National Trec Championships, British Riding Clubs Show Jumping Competitions.

CROSS COUNTRY COURSE

The extensive cross country course will suit all abilities and requirements, whether it is for a first time schooling session for either horse or rider, or for a pre-advanced event run, there is something for everyone and their horse.

 

The course covers approximately 50 acres, with over 100 jumps ranging from 18 inches to 3'6'', including ditches, 3 water complexes, arrow heads, combinations, steps. Built by Tony Symonds, a British Eventing Gold level Course Builder, all the jumps are professionally constructed. Tony has been involved in the building and preparation of many BE Horse Trials across the country including Hartpury, Aston Le Walls, Mattingley, Blair Castle, he was a part of the 2008 course building

team for the Beijing Olympics and the 2012 course building team for the London Olympics.

Tony is continuously adding new jumps and complexes, moving portable fences, in order to keep the course fresh and upto date. He is happy to hear of any requirements you might have, and will help if he can. This could be anything to moving a portable to building a specific fence.

Regardless of age riders using the cross country course must be accompanied by another rider or person on foot. 

As with all our facilities, all Riders must wear ‘Protective Headwear’ i.e. a hat which meets one of the following standards:

 

British – All PAS 015, VG1 - provided they are BSI Kitemarked    

European – VG1 - provided they are BSI Kitemarked   

American –All SEI ASTM F1163 04a onwards and SNELL E2001

Australian & New Zealand – AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards.

 

Harnesses must be correctly fastened at all times whilst mounted.

 

This must not have a fixed peak for cross-country.

Cross Country Arena

Our 60m x 60m Jumping Arena has a sand, rubber and comb ride surface and rides really well in all conditions. 

In here there are a wide variety of solid and rustic jumps. Ranging from 4cm upwards

 

This arena connects to our canter track and dew pond

It is available for both individual and group bookings. It can be booked under "Arena Hire" and the booking includes the use of the show jump arena swell (unless stated)

Conditions of Hire

  • All droppings must be collected and emptied into the trailer provided

  • All riders must sign in prior to riding in the "Signing Shed"

  • Hats to current standard must be worn and body protectors are recommended

  • Coloured wooden poles are not to be used as ground poles. There are plenty of rustic wooden poles if you wish to use ground/placing/v poles.

  • The course must be left as you found it.

DRESSAGE/POLE WORK/GRID ARENA

This 80m x 45m arena is generally split into two, a  20m x 45m arenas and a 60m x 45m with a removable fencing divide, this allows us to be flexible on the size of the arenas depending upon what events we have going on.

CANTER TRACK

A 300m loop that extends from the jumping arena. This is great for fitness work.

OFF ROAD RIDING

We have approximately 8 miles of off road riding around the farm. These tracks are available most of the year and are suitable for those who just want a quiet hack in the countryside or those who are working on fitness.
